The Commissioner of Police, Osun Police Command, Isyaku Mohammed has assured that water tight security measures would be put in place before, during and after the Yuletide festivities across the state.

CP Mohammed also directed Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to deploy police personnel and operational assets to dominate public places, especially places of worship, recreation centres, amusement parks and other social convergence facilities.

This directive is coming days after the Command announced a ban on use of fireworks and street carnivals throughout the state during the Yuletide festivities.

He also charged the officers to strictly adhere and enforce the operation order for the season and ensure intelligence-led and high visibility policing across the highways and across the state.

CP Mohammed made this known in a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola on Friday in Osogbo.

“The good people of the state are advised to go about their lawful businesses without any apprehension and cooperate with security personnel deployed for these special assignments to bring to fore the sole aim of protection of lives and property.

“I also urge members of the public to be law abiding, orderly and vigilant before, during and after the Yuletide.

“They should continue to support the Police with adequate information towards achieving a peaceful atmosphere.

“They can call the following numbers: 08039537995, 08123823981, 08075872433 to report suspicious person(s) or movement to the Police,” the PPRO stated.
