Trabzonspor manager, Abdullah Avci has refuted claims that Paul Onuachu sustained a major injury in the club’s Turkish Cup semi-final victory against Fatih Karagumruk on Wednesday night.

Onuachu opened scoring for Trabzonspor after 54 minutes in the 4-0 victory.

The big striker had to leave the pitch three minutes later after he sustained an injury during an aerial duel.

The Nigeria international has only just returned from injury.

There are fears he could be set for another spell on the sidelines but Avci has moved to debunk such claims.

“We learned that it is not a serious condition, it is a spasm-like condition. I think he will be ready by the end of the week,” Avci was quoted by Taka Gazette.

Trabzonspor will battle Besiktas in the cup final as they aim for their tenth triumph.

They last won the cup competition in the 2019-2020 season.
