President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday swore in Ambassador Desmond Akawor as a Commissioner of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC.

Akawor was sworn in before the commencement of the first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting for 2024 in the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja.

Prior to his appointment by the president, Akawor was the Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Following his appointment, Akawor resigned as PDP Chairman in Rivers State and was recently screened by the senate for the new position.
