The Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has assented to the N313 billion budget for the 2024 fiscal year.

Signing the bill into law at the Government House, Jalingo, on Friday, the governor lauded the Taraba State House of Assembly for what he described as a thorough and speedy job.

Kefas assured all stakeholders that the budget was meant to touch and better the lives of the citizenry, stating that his administration would not relent until the yearnings and aspirations of the people were met.

The signing is coming barely a few hours after the members of the Assembly passed the budget into law.

DAILY POST recalls that the members of the Assembly unanimously raised the budget from N311 billion to N313 billion.

The adjustment was said to have been made to accommodate some projects that touch on the five-finger development agenda of the government.

While commending the Assembly for the quick passage of the budget, he promised to ensure its full implementation.

Emphasising that his administration would ensure that every kobo spent leads to the betterment of the state, he believed that the need for the people, irrespective of political parties, religion, and ethnic differences, to give his administration the much-desired support has become necessary.

The leadership of the House of Assembly, through its Speaker, John Bonzina Kizito, said the members decided to accelerate the passage of the budget in order to enable the governor to embark on the construction of meaningful projects.
