Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has compared Arsenal striker Gabriel Martinelli with their club legend, Thierry Henry.
Ferdinand made the comparison while praising Martinelli for his ‘magnificent’ display in Arsenal’s Premier League 5-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Recall that Martinelli scored a stoppage-time brace during the encounter at Emirates Stadium to give the Gunners all three points against the visitors.
Speaking on TNT Sports, Ferdinand said about Martinelli’s brace off the bench:
“This is what I liked about him. The defender makes a bad decision… but he has composure and calmness in front of goal.
“That was Thierry Henry-ish, getting in those areas, he was magnificent at doing that.”
