The Nigeria Police Force has called on parents to caution their wards against any act of public disturbance, especially during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, CP. A T Abdullahi made the warning in his Christmas and New Year message.

He said the command ordered a robust deployment of officers and men to ensure a hitch-free celebration.

According to him” I had directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations to coordinate and ensure that all the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Operational Commanders should lead this year Yuletide Operation”

“They are to also ensure a high level of visibility policing and confidence building patrols around the worship centres, recreational centres, residential areas & other places of public resorts to prevent any infiltration by hostile elements”

CP. Abdullahi therefore urged parents/guardians to caution their wards against any act of public disturbance as the Command will not hesitate to clamp down on any miscreant who may want to use the period to foment trouble or any disruption of public peace.

He advised members of the public to be security conscious and report any suspicious movement of persons to the nearest police or other Security Agencies for immediate intervention.
