The head coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro, has confirmed that Alhassan Yusuf will not play in their final group fixture at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Monday.

Yusuf has not featured for Nigeria since he was injured during the 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea.

Since then, the Royal Antwerp midfielder has been under observation.

Peseiro, speaking to the media on Sunday, revealed that Yusuf is yet to join training.

“Yusuf didn’t train yesterday and he won’t be available for Guinea-Bissau,” Peseiro said.

The Eagles need a point against Guinea-Bissau to confirm their qualification as group winners.
