The Zamfara State Police Command has revealed that it has arrested some prominent personalities suspected to be involved in banditry.

This was disclosed by the State Commissioner of police, Muhammad Dalijan, while hosting head of the counter terrorism unit at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Thomas Parker.

According to him, a current member of the State House of Assembly, a district head, and a former local government chairman were arrested.

But he did mention the names of the suspects.

Dalijan urged the United Nations to help establish a forensic laboratory and help strengthen the Command in the area of training on investigation.

He explained that the level of crime has reduced in the state due to the efforts of security agencies, in collaboration with Community Protection Guards who have been battling terrorists migrating from Borno to Zamfara State .

The State police boss urged the visiting UNODC counter terrorism unit head to assist Zamfara State in fighting Insecurity.
