The Yobe State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service says Bala Dan’ azumi Kitsam has been posted to the state as the new Controller of Corrections.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASC Haruna Isa disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Damaturu, noting that Kitsam is the 4th Controller of Corrections in the state, since former President Muhammadu Buhari signed into law the act changing the name of the Nigeria Prisons Service to Nigerian Correctional Service in 2019.

According to the statement, he took over the mantle of leadership from the immediate past Controller of Corrections, Yusufu Sambo who has now been elevated to the rank of Assistant Controller General of Corrections (ACG), and was deployed to the service’s national headquarters, Abuja.

It also said CC Bala Dan’azumi Kitsam hails from Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State and holds a B.Tech (Hons) Agric Technology from the Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, Adamawa state.

“The new Controller of Corrections has served in different capacities, and various strategic offices across commands and formations.

“Until his posting as the new Controller of Corrections, Yobe State command, he was the officer-in-charge of the Non-Custodial Service, Bauchi state command,” the statement added.

The command enjoined the good people of the state to strengthen their partnership with the Nigerian Correctional Service in the area of reformation, rehabilitation, and reintegration of offenders and other aspects capable of strengthening the peace and security of the state.
