Super Eagles star Terem Moffi has named the Nigerian, African and European players that inspired him while he was growing up as a young footballer

Moffi is currently with the Super Eagles team at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Ivory Coast.

The OGC Nice player was added to the final Super Eagles squad at the last minute following the withdrawal of Victor Boniface who pulled out of the squad because of a groin injury.

Speaking to Nigerian journalist, Wale Quadry, Moffi said: “In Europe, I was a Chelsea fan so Didier Drogba. I loved Robin van Persie too ironically. There were lot of strikers who were of top, top quality, I watched them.

“I watched them play like got some traits of them, how they play, what they do, and that affected my game.

“When you get bits from top players it helps your game and you understand the game even better.

“Growing up I watched Obafemi Martins, Jay-Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, you watch these Nigerian legends of the game.”
