Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade has said the team can head to the 2024 Olympic Games in buoyant mood despite the defeat to Canada.

The former African champions lost 1-0 to Canada in their only test game before the Olympics.

Jordyn Huitema profited from Deborah Abiodun’s error to score the winning goal in the eighth minute.

The Super Falcons carved out a number of chances in the game but were let down by their poor finishing.

Ajibade said they can take a lot positives from the game .

“It was not a bad test match, we lost 1-0 but it was not a bad one, we had good moments in the game but we did not utilise our chances,” Ajibade was quoted by Afrik Foot.

“Yeah, it was a good game to help us prepare ahead of the tournament, so now we know what we need to work on and move forward.”

Randy Waldrum’s side will open their campaign in Paris 2024 against Brazil at the Stade Bordeaux next week Thursday.
