Ebonyi State government says it has concluded plans to make the forthcoming Maiden Edition of the state’s Investment Summit “an international business round table of Who is Who”.

Speaking during a meeting held at the state Ministry of Trade and Investment, Ochudo Centenary City, Abakaliki, the Co-chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Mr. Henry Awuregu noted that effort was being intensified to attract notable investors across the world to participate in the summit and to get their interest to invest in the state.

Awuregu stated that it would be a gathering of who is who in the investment sector drawn from different areas of life, and not a political jamboree.

He disclosed that an Investment Compendium would be presented to the investors during the summit as a way of showcasing the investment potentials of the state.

In their desperate remarks, the Director-General of Salt City Chambers of Commerce, Dr Emma Nwafor and the Secretary of the committee, Mr Joel Ebenyi, expressed hope that the summit would change the narrative of investment in Ebonyi State as there would be an exposition of the investment potentials of the state with a view to attracting genuine investors to the areas the state has comparative advantage.

Others who spoke during the meeting, including, Mr Victor Olughu and Mrs Ernestina Ogba urged the various sub-committees to work assiduously to ensure that the summit is a huge success.

The meeting was well attended by the critical stakeholders in the investment sector.
