Tarilaye Nwankwe has been appointed the chairman of Nigeria Premier Football League side, Bayelsa United, DAILY POST reports.

Nwankwe took the place of Ebiki Timitimi.

He was a former player and captain of the Prosperity Boys.

The new supremo played for Bayelsa United between 2000-2013

Nwankwe is also a one-time chairman of Bayelsa Queens.

Bayelsa United lost 3-0 to Sunshine Stars in their opening match of the season.

They will take on Kano Pillars next in the league.
