Manchester United winger, Jadon Sancho has revealed who convinced him to join Chelsea on loan in the just concluded transfer window.

The England international made a deadline day loan move to Chelsea with the option of a permanent deal.

He said that Blues’ boss, manager, Enzo Maresca was the reason for his move to Stamford Bridge.

After completing his loan move for the 2024-25 campaign, Sancho, who will wear no.19 at Stamford Bridge, also expressed how delighted he is over the move.

“Enzo Maresca really drew me to the project. I knew him from his time with Pep Guardiola in Manchester City,” he told the Blues official website.

“He spoke to me on the phone about this project and what he was building here, and for a young player like myself it’s exciting and I can’t wait to get started.”

At Chelsea, Sancho will have to compete for a starting spot with a plethora of talented young wingers.
