Despite the confusion created by conflicting statements by the media aides of President Bola Tinubu, the Guards Brigades have arrived at the House of Representatives for the joint session.

The advance team arrived around 10:47 am while the plenary session was ongoing.

It would be recalled that Bayo Onanuga and Ajuri Ngelale had issued two contradictory statements on the appearance of the president.

However, the Green Chamber is set for the joint session as the House has moved a motion to admit “non members” into the chamber.

The motion to admit non-members was moved by the Leader of the House, Julius Ihonvbere and seconded by the Minority Leader, Kingsley Chinda.

The Deputy Speaker, Ben Kalu, had earlier announced that the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio are in a meeting over the planned joint session.

Everything seems set for the appearance of the president, however, there is still uncertainty of if the president would be in attendance.
