AC Milan winger, Samuel Chukwueze could miss Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against South Africa and Benin Republic due to injury.

The 24-year-old copped an injury in AC Milan’s Serie A clash with Cagliari on Saturday.

Chukwueze had to be replaced by Portugal international, Rafael Leao after the break.

“Muscle problem in the left thigh for Chukwueze,” Milan Post confirmed his injury on X afterwards.

Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George is expected to release the list of invited players for the games against South Africa and Benin this week.

The West Africans will take on the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Friday, June 7.

The three-time African champions will face neighbours, Benin Republic a few days later.
