Chelsea defender Zak Sturge has returned to Stamford Bridge from his loan at Peterborough United amid the ongoing January transfer window.

Chelsea disclosed this in a statement via it website on Tuesday.

Sturge joined the Peterborough United last summer for his first senior loan experience.

He made 15 appearances in all competitions for the League One side.

Sturge joined Chelsea from Brighton and featured regularly at PL2 level before moving to London Road at the start of the season.

It’s yet to be seen if Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino will feature him in his squad this second half of the season.
